Frequenty Asked Questions

Q&A When is your next Convention?
May 2-3, 2008 promises to be another excellent convention...not to mention that we are returning again to the Pasadena Convention Center!

Q&A I came separately from the rest of my church and I don't have my confirmation sheet or badge. Where do I go for help?

Go to the Registration desks where they have a master list of all pre-registered delegates and what they are registered for. We have a listing by name and church.
If you were registered as a group from your church, the confirmations and badges were sent to the contact person listed on the group registration form. It is the responsibility of the contact person to distribute them. Many times attendees come to us and say, "I know my church or my Pastor registered me, how come you don't have a record of it?"
If someone else has registered you, please be sure that person has sent in the necessary paperwork.

Q&A Why are the workshops not being taped?
We do not want to make any money from the taping. For several years the taping companies have not been able to make a profit. The trend is to go from tape to CD's. The cost of the CD's would have been prohibitive. There is a possibility that we will be providing podcasting of our Keynote speakers and General Session.

Q&A Are there any meals or food functions with my registration?
No meals are included with registration. The Paseo Colorado Mall is directly across the street from the Convention Center. There are many fine restaurants to choose from. There is a possibility of a restaurant guide with discount coupons that could be available at the time you check-in. New this year: The Convention Center will be selling food in the Conference Building.

Q&A Is there an official "CMTA hotel package?"
We have made arrangements with the Pasadena Sheraton for a limited number of rooms with reduced rates. Please click on the following link. Book my hotel room

Q&A Can I register at the Convention on Friday or Saturday?
Yes, you may register for either day or the whole convention. We can accept cash, check, Master Card, Visa, Discover, and American Express.

Q&A Some of the people we pre-registered as a group from our church did not attend. Can we receive a refund?
No, unfortunately we can not offer refunds for non-attendance. There might be an extenuating circumstance, if so please send the unused confirmation form intact along with a letter stating the circumstances, and we will consider it after the convention.

Q&A I received my confirmation and my name is spelled wrong on my convention badge.
Every attempt was made to insure accuracy, unfortunately mistakes happen. You may return your badge to the registration desk and request a new handwritten one, or you may send in the entire confirmation, and a new one will be sent.

Q&A Is it possible to page someone at the convention?
No, the Convention site does not have paging capabilities available. You may post a note on the bulletin board in the registration area in hopes that the person may see it.

Q&A Can I bring my young children to the Convention?
Unfortunately no. The Convention and its workshops are designed for adults. As much as we love your children, at times young children can be disruptive to the learning experience in the workshop setting.

Q&A I drove 30 miles to attend the Convention and I specifically came just to hear a speaker that was to conduct a workshop. Upon arrival I was told the workshop was cancelled, or another speaker will conduct the workshop because the speaker had a family emergency. Can I get my registration money back?
We make every attempt to ensure that the Convention follows the pre-printed Convention Program Guide. Unfortunately, unforeseen things sometimes happen. We cannot offer refunds for cancellation of workshops or replacement speakers. We would hope that the entire Convention experience would be of benefit.

Q&A I received my Confirmation in the mail and it says that I owe more money or I have overpaid and have a refund coming. What do I do to complete my registration?
Go to the The CMTA Convention Office in the Exhibit Pavilion.

Q&A If I come to the workshop and find it overcrowded and cannot attend, is it possible to get the notes from that workshop following the convention?
It would be necessary for you to go to the instructor as soon as the workshop is concluded and request the notes. Pod-cast of certain Keynote Sessions and the General Session might also be available at our website.

Q&A In case of an emergency how can my family reach me at the convention?
You must call the CMTA Convention office phone at the convention and they will make every effort to locate the person you need to reach. The number is (626) 844-6024, or you may call the Pasadena Conference Center at (626) 793-2122 Ext. 300.

Q&A I only want to come to the Exhibits. Do I have to pay?
The Convention cost approximately $120,000 to produce. Badges are required for all entrance areas of the Convention. Please come to the Registration desk in the Exhibit Pavilion.

Q&A How can I personally be put on the CMTA mailing list to receive all of the information throughout the year?
You are automatically added to the mailing list when you register as a delegate. However, there are certain items of promotion that because of cost go only to your church or place of ministry. You may also add a friend to the mailing list through the website. Add my name to the Mailing Lists
